What should I expect the weather to be?

Winter days are chilly with temperatures ranging from 15 - 30 °F.  Evenings are much colder staying in the single digits and teens, rarely ever dropping below 0°F. Winter snow and ice storms are common. 

The early spring months are similar to winter with the same likelihood of storms.  The late spring temperatures rise to the 70 °F's during the day and evening temperatures drop to approximately 30 - 45 °F. 

The summer months bring long hot days averaging 85°F, which is ideal weather to experience the many activities at Mohican Lodge.  Enjoy an summer evening stroll through the park, as night temperatures reside in 60 °F's.

Fall brings a burst of brilliant color and the early months are comfortably crisp with the day temperatures ranging from 60 - 70 °F and evenings in the 50 °F.

Is there cell phone service?

Cell phone service is available for most providers; however, we can't guarantee the the signal strength.  It is possible that you may have little to no service depending on provider.

Is there a business center?

Besides offering 4,952 square feet of meeting space, we also provide high-speed Internet and e-mail services along with package and shipping, copy and facsimile services. Upon check-in, please visit the front desk for the location of our business center.

Can Mohican Lodge accommodate large groups?

Group gatherings of any kind are a natural choice for Mohican Lodge & Conference Center. For group gatherings, we feature fully equipped meeting rooms, professional on-site meeting planners and a full variety of planned or customized packages.

Are there ADA compliant rooms at Mohican?

Mohican State Park Lodge offers five accessible lodge rooms (all with roll-in showers).These accessible rooms cannot currently be reserved online. Please call Central Reservations for additional details, availability and to reserve an accessible room.

Can I check-in my room early?

Although we try to accommodate your requests for an early check-in, it's not always possible, depending on how full the lodge was the night before and how quickly our guests check out in the morning. Our reservation center will be happy to note a request for early check-in on your reservation; however, we cannot guarantee such requests. It's a good idea to call the lodge the evening before or the morning of your arrival to see if they can give you an idea of how early you can check in. 

Can I check-out of my room late?

We're glad you want to linger at our parks for a while, but we can't always allow you to linger in your room! As long as the lodge is not sold out and we do not need your room, an extra hour for check-out is allowed. We do ask you to be considerate of guests checking in behind you who don't want to wait for their room to be ready. Please check with the front desk the morning of your departure to see if a late check-out is possible.

Is there an entrance fee to enter the park?

There are no park entrance fees to enter Mohican State Park. 

How far in advance can I make lodging reservations?

We offer reservations up to 12 months in advance of arrival.

Do you have a waitlist for room reservations?

We do not offer a waitlist for reservations.

Since you don't have a waitlist, should I check back every day for a cancellation?

Cancellations do occur; however, they can occur at random with limited success in obtaining the dates and accommodations desired.  If your first choice is not available, rather than scheduling your vacation around the possibility of a cancellation, we suggest checking alternate dates instead.  If you want to continue to check for cancellations, you may do so by visiting our Check Availability - Book Online page.

Why can't I find my reservation through the Web site reservation system?

Currently our online reservation system will only allow modifications or cancellations to reservations initially booked on our Web site.

Can I cook in my room?

Cooking is not allowed in our guestrooms.

Can I bring in my own alcohol to the state park?

Please note alcoholic beverages are prohibited from being brought into the park and from being consumed in public areas of every Ohio state park, including inside the Lodge. The Lodge restaurant, lounge and gift shop offer alcoholic beverage services for those of legal age. These beverages must be purchased and consumed within the boundaries of the Lodge liquor license which include inside the Lodge and our patio. The Lodge liquor license only covers alcohol purchased through the Lodge; alcohol purchased outside the Lodge is prohibited.  The State of Ohio legal age for possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages is 21 years of age or older.

Do you offer Wireless Internet Access?

We do offer high-speed wireless Internet.

Can I have a pet in my room?

Pets are permitted in a limited number of lodge rooms.  Please call ahead to reserve a pet friendly room.  Please call us direclty for fees and more information.  Pets are allowed only in these specific rooms.  All assistance dogs for visually or hearing impaired or orthopedically challenged individuals are permitted in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991. 

Do I need dining room reservations?

Reservations are not required, but we highly recommend them to assure your dining pleasure.
